  • Student Class Year Lists: These five basic lists were created at the request of Whitman senior administration. There is one list for every class (stu14@whitman.edu, etc.) as well as stuxx@whitman.edu, which goes to part-time students and other students who don't fit into the other basic lists. 
    • Subscription: Students are automatically subscribed to the appropriate class list. No unsubscribe feature is available.
    • Digest Mode: NO
    • Posting: Restricted to those messages that must be delivered to all students of a particular class or classes. Postings can be made by the Office of the President, by senior administrative officers and deans, faculty division chairs, and some individuals and directors of offices with explicit permission. Permission can be obtained from senior administrative officers (e.g. Dean of Faculty (for faculty), Dean of Students (for student services officers or students), etc.).

  • Faculty List: faculty@whitman.edu is a list for communicating official, Whitman-related information to all faculty.
    • Subscription: Membership on this list is mandatory and automatic for all faculty. No unsubscribe feature is available.
    • Digest Mode: NO
    • Posting: All faculty can post to this list. If you are not a faculty member, you must get permission from the Dean of Faculty before you can post to this list.
    • Archive: NO
  • Staff List: staff@whitman.edu is a list for communicating official, Whitman-related information to all staff.
    • Subscription: Membership on this list is mandatory and automatic for all staff. No unsubscribe feature is available.
    • Digest Mode: NO
    • Posting: Moderated by Communications. Any staff member can post to it.
