Your Whitman credentials (your username and password) are the two most important pieces of information for you to remember at Whitman.  These allow you to access your email, netFiles, and CLEo accounts as well as allowing you to access the Whitman wireless network and most computers on campus.

Username

Each student, faculty, and staff member is assigned a username.  This username is usually the first 6 letters of your last name followed by the first initial of your first name and the first initial of your middle name. However, the best way to find a username is by using the Campus Directory (also known as People Search). Your username is simply your Whitman email address without the @whitman.edu.

Password

When you first activate your account, your initial, randomly-assigned Whitman password will be shown to you. Make sure you note it carefully because using the "back" button on your browser will not show the password again once you navigate away from that page.

Changing your Password

Once you receive your randomly generated password, we strongly suggest that you change it to something you can remember.  For information on creating a secure password, see our password creation guide.

To change your password, go to the Online Password Changer and enter in your desired password (you will also have to enter in your original password).

Forgot your Password?

If you forget your password you can get a new one by going to the WCTS Helpdesk in Olin 168 with your Whitman ID card. They will change your password to one randomly selected by the system.

If you are off campus, you will have to contact the Helpdesk at 509-527-4976.
