Submitting an Event Request
Open Coursedog by using the Event Request link found in myWhitman
In Coursedog, click the Request an Event link in the Actions menu
Select the type of event you would like to schedule
Quick Meeting: Intended for simple meetings that don’t require on-site support or delivery of resources (e.g. projection, podium, tables, chairs, etc.).
Co-Sponsored Event: For events or activities where an internal user (department, student group, or committee) and an external user (non-profit/501c3) have shared responsibility for planning, control and management of said event.
All Other Events: Intended for all events that aren’t covered by the other two options. Includes options for Classroom and Event Technology (CET) support, resources, and more.
Fill out the form and click the Submit Event Request button.
A link will be provided to view your request status
Monitoring the Status of your Event Request
After submitting your request, a link to view the status of the request will be emailed to you.
Note: You can also see a dashboard for all pending requests by using the Requests link on the Coursedog homepage
On the Event Request page, you can see the status of your request in the Request Toolbox section.
The Workflow section indicates the status of the various approval steps. You can also hover over the decision “bubbles” for quicker access to the same information
The Activity section lists all changes and comments for the request.
Making edits to requests
A request might be “routed back” to you in order for you to make necessary changes. When that happens, use the Edit Request button to make those changes.
Note: If you are presented with buttons to “approve” or “reject” the request, then the request is currently waiting on your decision, and the approval process will not continue until you take action. If you made edits to the request, for instance, select “Approve” to confirm those edits and re-submit the request for approval. If it’s not clear to you what decision to make, reach out to reservation@whitman.edu with any questions that you have.
