Choosing a Ring Tone

  • Enter the Settings menu (see the quick reference guide for your phone below if you are not sure how).
  • Select User Preferences.
  • Select Rings (if your phone has more than one line you will need to select which line first).
  • Select a ring tone and press Play to hear a sample.
  • Press Save to set the ring tone, or press Cancel.

Conference Call

This is not available on all phones.
  • While on the line, put the first call on "Hold."
  • Place a second call.
  • Navigate to first call.
  • Press the "Join" softkey (may need to press the "More" softkey to find "Join")

Calling a Whitman Extension from the Call History list

  • While in the call history (received call, missed call, etc.), scroll to the desired phone number.
  • Press the "Dial" softkey.

Calling an Off Campus Number from the Call History list

  • While in the call history (received call, missed call, etc), scroll to the desired phone number.
  • Press the "EditDial" softkey (second button)
  • Press "7" to append the "7" to the beginning of the number, or 7-1 if long distance.
  • Press the "Dial" softkey (first button)

Editing a Number in the Call History

  • While in the call history (received call, missed call, etc), scroll to the desired phone number.
  • Press the "EditDial" softkey (second button)
  • Press the ">>" softkey to move past digits
  • Press the "<<" softkey to delete digits
  • Press numbers to insert digits as needed
  • Press the "Dial" softkey (first button) to call edited number

Answer a second call while on the phone

  • Press the "Answer" button. This places the first call on hold while you answer the second call.
  • When you are done with the second call, press the "Resume" softkey to return to the first call.

Setup and Use Speed Dial

Set up a hunt group/Change lines appearing on the phone

  • Contact the Phone Managers at phone@whitman.edu.

In case of Power Outage

  • Your phone set will not work during an extended power outage. Look for the emergency phones in your building.
